The NUBAO TEACHERS' WORKSHOP is a professional development workshop aimed at exposing Chicago area science educators to the exciting field of neuroscience and brain research, and to demonstrate how these topics can be introduced into the classroom through engaging, hands-on activities.

Certified teachers receive up to seven continuing professional development units for participating! If needed, scholarships are available upon application to offset costs for a substitute teacher.

Every year, we invite a neuroscience expert to speak about their area of research. Teachers will have the opportunity to learn about cutting-edge research from this keynote lecture.

Educators interested in participating in the Brain Awareness Teachers Workshop must complete this short application. Deadline for application is February 23, 2026. Capacity is limited, so interested participants are encouraged to apply sooner rather than later!
